018 Benik Afobe

Benik Tunani Afobe, born on 12 February 1993 in Leyton, England, is a professional football striker with Congolese heritage. He began his youth career at Arsenal’s academy, signing his first professional contract in 2010. During his time with the Gunners, Afobe experienced numerous loan spells across the Football League, honing his goal-scoring abilities. In 2015, he joined Wolverhampton Wanderers, making an immediate impact with his pace and finishing. His performances attracted AFC Bournemouth’s interest, prompting a transfer in 2016.

Subsequent moves to Stoke City and further loan stints showcased Afobe’s adaptability. In 2019, he joined Bristol City on loan before moving to Turkey with Trabzonspor. Afobe returned to England, featuring for Millwall and continuing to prove his goal-scoring prowess. Although eligible for the Democratic Republic of Congo, he represented England at youth level before making his DR Congo senior debut in 2017. He remains a dynamic forward wherever he plays.
